Israel does not have a right to kill at will a defenseless population which has not the ability to act freely, to determine its sovereignty, to enjoy the notion of hope which israel has taken away from the Palestinians. The ruthless destruction of Gaza, the killing of children, the use of chemical weapons on a defenseless civilian population that is captive in the largest prison concentration camp known to history is abhorrent, uncivilized and sheer barbarism no less than what nazism inflicted on the Jewish population of Europe. Israel has lost the most precious mantle of historical sympathy, nay, these people do not have the same blood that endured the holocaust for they are an insult to those millions who perished because of national racial policies. It is a shameful day when most of my government lines up with the idea that it is national defense to attack a civilian population, only cowards could vote such.

ABUONAM, you need to study history and inform yourself and get a few things straight. Israel put the entire Gaza Strip in the hands of Palestinians, withdrawing every civilian and leaving an infrastructure to facilitate economic viability. It supplied electricity, and trucked in humanitarian aid daily. Hamas destroyed it all, including the hopes of those who helped them take power.
I do not know where you live, but you need to ask yourself how long your leaders would tolerate a constant rain of rockets on the civilian population. Israel actually showed great restraint in the face of this unprovoked reign of terror -- until there was simply no choice but to try to stop the rockets. The Hamas use of human shields and abuse of the homes of innocent residents in Gaza as bases for attack for building tunnels is no secret -- except to those who prefer to believe lies and propaganda and slander Israel without any basis, as you are doing.

Yada, yada, yada..... I'm not saying who's right or wrong on this issue. And I'm not saying that there is no need for public discourse on what's going on over there! But Ms Pelosi can better use her time focusing her part of Congress on issues facing THIS COUNTRY as it slides into depression and trying to find solutions to OUR problems than in introducing bills like this!

"THIS COUNTRY" gives over 6 billion dollars yearly to Israel so it can build an Apartheid wall, build illegal settlements, confiscate Palestinian land and massacre civilians.
Palestinians are human. There is a reason why they're launching rockets. Don't be so naive as to think they simply want bloodshed. They are starved, they are imprisoned. Any humanitarian organization will tell you that Gaza is in a state of poverty, not because of Hamas' leadership, but because they have no resources. There has been a blockade on Gaza since Hamas was elected. Tell me what government can govern a people without any resources?
BTW: "THIS COUNTRY" has has also supported a war in Iraq that cost over 500 billion dollars (so far, and that's an estimate).
Foreign Policy and Domestic Policy are not mutually exclusive concepts.
