Why not just allow Social Security recipients to receive standard cost-of-living adjustments, as before. This would involved encouraging the President to withdraw his plans to freeze all Social Security cost-of-living adjustments for the next two years, thereby permitting cost of living to increase and then increasing medicare health premiums. This constitutes taxing social security . . . the third rail of American politics . . . and it falls directly on the Democracts. Wait a minute . . . wasn't FDR, the author of Social Security, a Democrat? Didn't he promise Social Security would never be taxed? Who is being offensive here? FDR . . . Obama . . . the Democrats? Now, someone wants to spend more time, effort, energy . . . and money . . . resolving a big mistake! We could sure use a major investigation here! REPLY
