Is this amendment going to allow voluntary school prayer? If so, I support it. REPLY

Yes, it will prevent the prohibition of voluntary individual or group prayer in schools. quote ... "Nothing in this Constitution shall be construed to prohibit individual or group prayer in public schools or other public institutions. No person shall be required by the United States or by any State to participate in prayer. Neither the United States nor any State shall prescribe the content of any such prayer.’" REPLY

This is redundant. The supreme court has already ruled that prayer by individuals or groups is acceptable. No one ever banned prayer in schools. The only thing that is banned now is also banned in this proposed amendment, requiring (and in the current law coercing) people to participate in prayer and using government offices to prescribe the content of that prayer.

This amendment is unnecessary as the supreme court case law has already taken care of this issue, with much more clarity than this proposed amendment.

This is a most irrelevant and redundant resolution. The U.S. Constitution has never been construed to disallow prayer in school or public places. The present administration has done that. Why doesn't Congress focus on investigating and eliminating government corruption. That is needed more than all the tax-and-spend legislation that is too prevelant for our times. REPLY
