This should have been enacted 150 years ago.

The only people that wouldn't benefit are career politicians, lobbyists, aides, unions, trial lawyers, medical affiliates, corporations, staffers, etc. In fact, they are the major contributors to "No" campaigns in term limit votes. A major argument against term limits is that they would enhance lobbying power, but these groups are consistently against term limits and pour millions of dollars into measures that block such legislation. ????
Are you trying to suggest that long-term politicians actually have the average American's best interest at heart?
I think that the voting here and in state memoranda to enact state term limits would suggest otherwise (at least from the voter's point of view). The voting here on this website is fairly consistent with the average voting of approval in the 15 states that currently have term limits, which is in the mid-60s.
With a Congressional approval rating in the teens, it will be interesting to see how many incumbents

(cont. from above)
retain their seats in 2008. Odds are that it will remain around the previous half century trend of about 90% retention. This trend would suggest that another argument (that the voting booth regulates terms) is also dysfunctional.
Any particular reason why you believe it to be such a bad thing?

This means Ron Paul would be out of congress. We can't do that to our country.

We need term limits.
Though there are good representatives in office that could continue doing great things, there are also those who are crawling in the shadows. The men and women who accept money from lobbyists and ignore the interests of the American people they are supposed to represent.
I call for term limits now.
